This department is the advocacy arm of the FDA and interacts primarily with the legislative and executive branches of state government. In addition to lobbying in the halls of the legislature, this department monitors and plans policy development and advocacy before the Board of Dentistry, Department of Health, Agency for Health Care Administration and other departments and agencies within state government that might impact the delivery of dental care throughout the state. The FDA’s political action arm, the Florida Dental Political Action Committee, is also managed by this department.
