Taking the Board Exam

Capture34Taking a professional licensure examination is undeniably a stressful experience. The Florida Dental Association (FDA) is committed to helping Florida dental-licensure candidates. We want every qualified applicant who takes this examination to pass with as little anxiety as possible. We look forward to having you join us as colleagues and FDA members.

Preparing for the Florida Dental Licensure Exam provides quick answers to the most common questions candidates ask. It also has resource information, but does not replace the detailed information available the Florida Board of Dentistry provides through the websites: www.floridasdentistry.gov and www.nerb.org.

Remember that every FDA member passed a similar examination and remembers what it was like. We all want to help you pass with flying colors!

Graduated Dues Discount Program

The FDA understands the challenges new graduates experience after completing their formal education and passing the dental exam. Financial pressures from school loans and other dental practice concerns can make it challenging and sometimes overwhelming. However, membership in the ADA, FDA and your local dental association is paramount to your success, now … and in the future!

The ADA, FDA and your local dental association offer a graduated dues discount program for all new dentists joining immediately after graduation. Don’t delay — join after graduation from dental school and enjoy NO dues during your year of graduation and the first full year out from dental school. Subsequent year’s dues are gradually increased by 25 percent each year. You won’t pay full dues until your fifth year out from dental school!

  • Year of Graduation (upon receipt of your application): NO dues
  • First year out: NO dues
  • Second year out: 25 percent of full dues
  • Third year out: 50 percent of full dues
  • Fourth year out: 75 percent of full dues
  • Fifth year out: full dues

Your membership and support of the FDA is essential to your future success and the health of the dental profession. Join early and save!
