Two-hour Opioid Prescribing Course
New legislation requires all dentists, regardless of DEA licensing, to take a two-hour continuing education (CE) course on the safe and effective prescribing of controlled substances during licensure renewal. One-hour Human Trafficking Course
HB 851 outlines several changes to human trafficking laws by creating a new requirement for various health care practitioners, including dentists and dental hygienists to take a one-hour CE course on human trafficking by Jan. 1, 2021. This is a one-time only CE requirement and the one-hour is included in the total number of CE hours required for dentists and hygienists’ license renewal. FDA FREE Online CE
As a member benefit, the Florida Dental Association offers free continuing education 24 hours a day to member dentists. FDA’s online CE program offers the popular Today’s FDA column, “Diagnostic Discussion.” Members can earn up to 10 CE hours through FDA’s online CE.
You can access these programs at any time via the link above. Each course is accompanied by a multiple-choice test to obtain CE credit. After you have completed the course, your test will be reviewed and you will be emailed a CE certificate. CE certificates will be emailed on a weekly basis. As an added benefit, your credits will be posted to CE Broker the first Friday of each month.
