The House of Delegates (HOD) is the FDA’s legislative body. The House of Delegates consist of 100 certified delegates from the six components and one student delegate from each Florida Dental School. The number of delegates each component has is based on membership numbers. FDA elected officers are ex officio members of the HOD as are FDA Trustees, therefore they cannot serve as delegates. The HOD has the responsibility and right to advise the Board of Trustees regarding any matter of importance to the FDA by means of resolutions. The HOD will also hear matters brought to it by the Board of Trustees as well as elect six at-large trustees, elect FDA officers and elect delegates who will represent Florida at the American Dental Association. The House of Delegates meets two times per year, it’s annual meeting is held in June in conjunction with the Florida Dental Convention and it’s semi-annual meeting is held in January.
