Restorative Functions for Dental Auxiliaries (RFDA)
Program Overview
The RFDA Program enables qualified Dental Assistants and Dental
Hygienists to earn certification in restorative functions under the
supervision of a licensed Florida dentist.
Regulatory Alignment
This course is developed in alignment with Florida Rule 64B5-16.0061,
and guided by the Florida Board of Dentistryʼs Task Force on
Restorative Functions. Training takes place in a CODA-accredited lab
environment, ensuring adherence to the highest educational and
safety standards for dental auxiliaries in Florida.
What RFDAs Are Permitted to Do
After the supervising dentist prepares the tooth, certified RFDAs may:
